Ten in a Tent reading task:
Compare YOUR home/flat to the tent, using the five senses. You may use the following ideas to help you:
Who is in the tent? Describe them. ------> Who lives in your flat? Describe them.
Smells: What does the tent smell like? Where do the smells come from? ----> What smells do you smells in your home? Where do they come from?
Sounds: What do the characters hear in the tent? ---> What do you hear in your home? (traffic? crying babies?)
Sight: What does the tent look like? ---> What does your flat look like?
*How does the tent FEEL? (crowded? comfortable?) ---> How does your home feel? Why?
What is the best part of the book? ---> What is the best thing about living in your flat?
*Try to include details, adjectives and drawings to make it more creative.
